Toby Keith A Racist Really?

Fresh after the controversy for his latest song Keith decided to inform the world that Obama is successful because he acts white. Does this man have racist tendencies?

Let me see if this city girl can figure it out... Let's look at the lyrics in question.

Well a man come on the 6 o'clock news
said somebody's been shot
somebody's been abused
somebody blew up a building
somebody stole a car
somebody got away
somebody didn't get to far yeah
they didn't get too far

Grandpappy told my pappy back in my day, son
A man had to answer for the wicked that he'd done
Take all the rope in Texas
Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys
Hang them high in the street
For all the people to see

That Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune
And we'll all meet back at the local saloon
And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing
whiskey for my men, beer for my horses

We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds
too much corruption and crime in the streets

It's time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground
Send 'em all to their maker and he'll settle 'em down
You can bet he'll set 'em down...

Well I think this city girl has come to a conclusion in the face of undeniable evidence...Can you guess what I'm thinking? Now I have yet another reason not to buy his CDS other than a strong dislike of country music.

Oh my another scary-ass song from Toby Racist. Thanks for posting.
Those lyrics make me shudder. Even scarier how many fans will sing along without realizing the racism Keith's songs celebrate... Scarier still is the fans that CELEBRATE such racist attitudes.

The "grandpappy told my pappy", old-time lynching, racism part is what detracts from the message that he is really trying to get across. Which is very hard line, tough on crime, but not racist I feel. He's talking about all violent criminals, not ones of any certain race.

@Uspace...which bodies do you feel were most often lynched in the history of the US? I will give you a hint, they weren't white.
