Striptease For PETA

In a bid to prevent animal cruelty PETA has continually sexualized women. Examples can be found here and here.   While their concern for animals is admiral reducing women to sex objects to sell their message is unacceptable.  Why should a dog or a cat get more respect than a human female?  In their latest assault on women they are offering a striptease quizz.  If you get all of their questions correct you are rewarded by seeing a topless woman.

This bullshit has to come to an end. It's time for PETA to adopt a little PETW (People for the ethical treatment of women) Pimping womens bodies to prevent cruelty to animals is an injustice, and is just plain sick.  Until you learn that women have value PETA, not a dime will you receive from me. I simply cannot support an organization, no matter how worthy the cause that thinks pimping women is the way to raise awareness. Guess what, women matter as much as FIDO.

These women are choosing to be naked and promote themselves for the cause. PETA also has men sexualized and naked for the cause so it is not just about women.

Right and naked man has the same meaning in out society? I think not. Regardless of the fact that women are choosing this it is still exploitation and devaluation.

Queers United -

If you also got to see a topless man after getting a perfect score on the quiz, I might be more inclined to agree with you. But as PETA places more emphasis on sexualizing women than men (this quiz being just one piece of evidence), I'm in agreement with Renee on this matter.

The campaign will end as soon as PETA stops making money through it. There are lots of anti-cruelty groups but most people would be hard pressed to name more than a couple of them. PETA is at the top of the list in large part through their ads featuring naked women.

Of course, the campaign is sexualizing women. There's no reasonable argument otherwise. PETA wants to attract people who wouldn't otherwise donate to an animal rights organization. At this point, PETA receives more positive press than negative. When that changes, the advertising will change.

A topless man does not equal a topless woman at any rate.

I have to wonder if anyone converts to the PETA cause via this campaign. Yes, they get a certain amount of attention, but it has nothing to do with involving people in stopping animal cruelty or in converting people to veganism.

Petas' concern for animals is a farce. Just Google peta kills animals for evidence of their concern. Their concern for animals is limited to their fundraising campaigns which benefit their leaders rather than animals. Their concern for women is also negligible.
