Palin Can't Name A Supreme Court Decision

CBS finally revealed the much talked about segment of the interview where Palin once again revealed her inadequacy.  No one could possibly be this dim. What is she, the female Forest Gump?  I am starting to believe that this is some sort of weird set up, to make us have low expectations for her when she debates Biden.

She didn't know what the Bush doctrine was, gave a rambling answer when she was asked about the bailout, and now it has been revealed that she could not could not come up with a single supreme court decision that she was in disagreement with.  All poor Couric could do was blink her eyes at Palins incoherence.  I didn't think it was possible but slowly she making George Bush look intelligent.  I simply do not see how it is possible for the GOP to continue to defend her and claim that she is ready for the responsibility that comes with being the VP.

My god... is half of the country not watching this, or is there some divine logic to voting for someone who is so obviously a master bullshit artist?

My god is right...

She is so embarrassing...I could hardly stand to watch that 1 minute clip. I honestly don't know how I'm going to survive the debate...

She's a Republican and she can't even come up with Hamdan? Or the recent eminent domain case, whatever it was called? When she started talking about history I thought she would come out with Dred Scott, but even that was too hard for her.

I agree, this is completely unacceptable for someone running for VP. However (and as much as i usually agree with you, Renee!!) i couldn't help cringe a bit when i read, "No one could possibly be this dim. What is she, the female Forest Gump?"

I don't think Palin is stupid. She has to be at least a bit crafty to get to the position she's in now, even the position she was in before being nominated. I do, however, think she is inept to be vice president. Not being about to discuss any supreme court decisions might be ok for a "typical hockey mom" but not for someone running for the second highest office. I think calling her stupid is too easy - she isn't necessarily dumb, just completely ill-equipped to lead our country.

@Feminist Gal

Yes, I think I agree with you there. Uninformed and ill-equipped is probably a better description than stupid. Average folks on the street might not know answers to those questions either...it doesn't necessarily mean they're dumb, they're just unqualified for jobs like VP. I hope people will learn to stop putting personality before capability when they vote. I'm looking forward to the debate.

When I first saw the SNL sketch about this, I thought they were just being hyperbolic. Imagine my horror when I discovered that they were dead fucking on. Apparently you can't make this kind of stuff up. The more I watch these interview clips the more fearful I become. How can people watch this stuff and still vote for McCain/Palin? They should be as terrified as we are!

I have to admit, I found the Forrest Gump thing a little much, but I do not presume to know your reasons. It just stung me a little, FWIW. Otherwise, you are dead on. This person is dangerous. The Republican ticket is dangerous, and those who don't see it are foolish at best, hateful at worst.

You know I am beginning to think that McCain just picked her because she was a woman.

@Ouyang Dan...I used the Forest Gump reference because he is a fictional character. My point is that this simply surreal. No one could possibly be this ill equipped to function on a national stage and still assert competence. I am not rooting for the woman by any means, I am just simply hoping that this is some tactic that we have yet to understand. If not I believe that she has done an extreme disservice to any other woman that will attempt to follow in her footsteps.

It's on our today's post, too, along with a few other links that will scare the crap out of you if people don't start using their brains! For heaven's sake, should McCain kick the bucket she'd be next in line... for what? A bake sale??

oh wow, and we think Bush is embarrassing now. If she gets in office, it will be humiliating to be an American.
