Okay since it is Sunday and we all need a break from some of the serious shit that goes on, today I thought I would share with you one of my secret shames. Do you remember that song I'm Too Sexy? Even though the video is highly problematic, I still love this ridiculous one hit wonder. Today I thought that we could all share our secret shame. Hit me in the comment section with a few of the songs that you like, that you would never admit to. Every once and a while it is fun to laugh at ourselves. Oh btw Graham my favourite English guy of all time, every time I hear this song I think of you stripper boy;)

I like Katy Perry's voice even though I'm disgusted by her homophobia. I Kissed a Girl, Ur So Gay... I don't like the premises of these songs. Her voice is beautiful and the songs are kinda catchy, but I feel really guilty for liking them.
In These Shoes? by Kirsty MacColl .
Oh, stop my heart.

@revjohnny...I listened to the song and I think you can remove it from your shame list, I really liked it.
That would have to be the Backstreet Boys - More Than That.
Also Aldo Nova! Fantasy.
Anita Ward, Ring my Bell - yes, its DISCO _ I admit it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOtC-xvmFJI but I LOVE that song - and like a lot of songs for most of us, partially becuase of when I first heard it ... dancing in a disco called Fat City in Amsterdam ...
I am absolved. Wonderful.
Now what about my fondness for, The Cars and ZZ Top?
revjohnny no pass on The Cars...that one goes on the shame list sorry.
As for everyone else thanks for sharing you made me laugh this morning.
Love is Love by Boy George...there I said it ....let the finger pointing and name calling commence....I think I can take it.
@Coolreds...I'm afraid I would have to point the finger at myself as well. I love Boy George. It's not my fault I'm a child of the eighties/nineties. Even as I type this the unhusband is singing love is love, and he doesn't have the same generational excuse that I do.
Newsweek called it "That sappy love song".
I can't help it, I just love REO Speedwagon's "Can't Fight That Feeling"
That and anything by *blushes* Air Supply.
Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" - horrible message, but it's so damn catchy.
And a few songs by Eminem - I know the man is a total douche, sexist, racist, etc. But occasionally those songs are a guilty pleasure.
My tastes are pretty far off the usual map, but I am ashamed to admit that I really like the raunchy pop music of Stereo Total.
Something I'm NOT ashamed of liking and have to recommend to everyone, though: "Oh, Run Into Me, But Don't Hurt Me!" (you can find it at Amazon).
I admit to all of my shameful music loves. Among that is "bubble gum" pop, which I hope I don't have to explain.
I love Queen, unabashedly. One of my favorite videos is I Want to Break Free.
Hey, I love your blog!
Oh and you're so right, I didn't put up a secret shame of mine own... Well, I do actually have a couple of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake songs on my ipod. But I really try and pretend I don't, that's one I'll sometimes turn down if I think someone else might overhear. LOL
@selkie- I was just going to post that song by Anita Ward, its great!
How about some Divine ... love these videos's...

And there is the Stereo MC' - Get Connected...

And the dark 1980's/90's for more are directly connected to this... and I occasionally like to listen to it now
Alice and Chains - I Stay Away

All I can say is that I really like dance music...
