Every once in a while I like to open up the blog to discuss what everyone is reading. I am currently reading the latest book by Kevin Hearne entitled Hexed, as well as Sexuality and the Black Church: A Womanist Perspective by Kelly Brow Douglas. I am thoroughly enjoying both books. One of the things that I love the most about summer is sitting on my front porch with a good book and a beer, whiling away the hours. Destruction is currently burning his way through Harry Potter, Mayhem loves his Toy Story books and the unhusband is reading, Breaking The Ice: The Black Experience in Professional Hockey. We all have various interests, but reading is a family activity. I have told my children that it this point I am not overly concerned with what they choose to read, and am far my interested in the fact that they are reading.
On that note, please use this thread to talk about what you are reading and list any books that you would like to recommend. As always, Tami, Dan, Sparky and I are open to any suggestions on urban fantasy and particularly so if they involve marginalized characters or were written by a marginalized person. Let it fly in the comments, and happy reading everyone.
