I've just been doing a volunteer shift looking for funding for poor women looking needing abortions.

The rage I feel at so-called "pro-choice" politicians who cannot even mention that word anymore is overwhelming. We need universal healthcare, but before that we need REPEAL OF THE HYDE AMENDMENT. Has anyone heard of a politician even mentioning that misogynistic piece of crap legislation in the last decade???? Pro-choice my ass!

Have you read the book Missing Sarah by Maggie De Vries. It is about one of the women killed by Robert Pickton. She was a sex trade worker and when she and all the other women went missing, the police ignored it and shoved it off.

I've said this countless times to the point of ad nauseam, but the just world theory is dangerous in that while blaming the victim, it also spreads the myth that "respectable" people, especially women are never the victim of a crime.

This country's Puritan morality will continue to get women killed because we can't get over the fact that our morals devalue certain members of our society and dehumanize them for being "immoral" and thus "worthy" of their deaths.
